Jake and Mommy looked on as Cole tried out his new jumper for the first time.  If you've been on this blog long enough, you'll remember that Jake used to love being in this jumper at the same age.

Jake doesn't have much of an appetite these days.

Jake quickly learned that until he wants to put weight on his leg, he can crawl if he needs to get around.  And he can play with is Legos and trains on the floor like he always does.

Later that afternoon Jake was ready to have his cast off.  Poor guy.

It only took 2 years for Jake to get his first cast.  The doctor says he has to have it on for 4 weeks.  He did a great job and was a real trooper while it was put on. 

Diagnosis: spiral fracture of the right tibia.  Turns out it's not that uncommon for a toddler to break their leg by just jumping around or going down a slide.  The leg turns and their little bone breaks.  The look on Mommy's face says it all.

Jake's first x-ray was not fun for anyone.

Jake was patiently waiting for the doctor to come in and take a look at his leg. 

While jumping around on the playground at daycare, Jake hurt his leg and didn't want to put any weight on it.  Cole and Mommy where sitting with him while we had the boo-boo bunny on his leg.

Jake was having a reeeeeeally fun time standing on top of the garbage can when we were checking out the trash trucks doing their pick ups.

Jake loves to go down to the beach at Blackie's Pasture and throw rocks and mud around.  The key is to bring plenty of snacks and water and a warm change of dry clothes.
