It didn't take long before Jake wanted to eat his sundae on his own.  And when he couldn't get any more with the spoon, he did what any of us would do and licked the bowl.  Happy Birthday Jake!

Mommy made some pretty funny faces as she helped Jake eat his sundae.  And if you're looking for Cole, he's strapped to Mommy - as per usual.

This is just how happy Jake was as Grandma Kathy sang happy birthday to him on speaker phone on the way to daycare the morning of his birthday.  He LOVED it!

Jake had a fun time playing with the new trains and also putting his Thomas engine to work on the tracks too.

For his 2nd birthday, Jake got a train table from Grandpa Bob and Grandma Kathy.  His first reaction was to climb on top of it.

We had a great trip, and now the family unit is is on the plane ready to head back to home sweet home.

These bags have the car seats, stroller and everything we need for the boys on the plane.  Daddy was in charge of hauling this around the airport, including taking things in and out of the bags for inspections.  The price of traveling with an infant and a toddler.

On the morning we left to go home, we had to make sure we "baptized" Cole in the Pacific, just like we had done with Jake two years earlier.

Jake gave Mommy a couple of Plumerias that fell off of the tree.

Jake was the first one out on the beach digging holes.   

Even though Cole is still stonewalling the bottle, Whitney was pumping breast milk while we were in Maui to keep her supply up.  We tried to donate the approx 60 ounces she pumped, but there were no takers.  It's a little scary to ship it back not knowing it remained frozen the whole time, so we had to discard it.  Cole, your Mommy worked very hard for this...

Cole was doing some tummy time on the couch when he actually rolled over on his own.  He was at an angle on the slanted couch, but it was hopefully a good sign of things to come.

Out for a big family breakfast at the Pioneer Inn. 

Jake found this stick then proceeded to poke holes in the sand for a half hour straight.  He brought the stick back to the condo after as well.  Sometimes, it's all about a stick.

Jake LOVED doing this over and over and over again.  And you'll notice Mommy and Cole in the background on the right at the end of the video.
